In general terms, this IpLearn solution assesses a user's understanding of a subject in detail based on multiple assessments over a duration of time. This detailed assessment of the user's understanding can be used to identify a user’s strengths and weaknesses in the subject and suggest areas to be further studied. Instructors and users can both benefit from the solution's individualized and detailed approach to assessment.

- Identifying user attributes, such as a user's strengths and weaknesses, based on, for example, a weighted combination of multiple assessments of the user.
- Assessing a user regarding areas within a subject, such as its main subject areas and its major and minor topics, which can have different levels of complexity and can be interlinked in a hierarchical manner.
